Senior Investment Strategist (gn) – Financial Institutions

For our client, a modern global player in the insurance industry headquartered in Munich, we are seeking a highly analytical and self-driven Senior Investment Strategist (gn) with a strong understanding of the financial sector, capital markets and securitized debt instruments. You will join an international team that develops group-wide investment strategies, defines mandates and sets asset allocation decisions in close collaboration with both internal and external asset managers.

Your responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive analysis of credit markets, focusing on financial institutions and securitized assets, to identify trends, risks and opportunities

Perform fundamental, valuation and technical analyses supported by quantitative tools and integrated macro perspectives

Develop and implement credit investment strategies that optimise risk-adjusted returns for portfolios with exposure to financial institutions and structured credit

Prepare and present investment recommendations for committees and internal stakeholders

Evaluate credit risk and investment structures in line with defined risk appetite and KPI requirements

Collaborate across functions and geographies, actively engaging stakeholders and integrating diverse perspectives into investment decisions

Your profile:

University degree in Finance, Economics, Banking or a related field

Strong professional experience in the investment area, ideally with focus on financial institutions or securitized debt

Strong analytical mindset and hands-on approach – you personally drive analyses and deliver insights under tight timelines

Profound understanding of balance sheets, capital structures, liquidity and regulatory frameworks (Basel III/IV)

Very good skills in Bloomberg, Refinitiv, MS Office; experience with Python or EViews is a plus

Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to convey complex topics clearly and persuasively

Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous but not essential
