(Senior) Expert (gn) - Insurance Accounting and Closing
Key Responsibilities:
You act as an interface with the internal stakeholder or external auditor on reinsurance accounting matters and significant transactions
You will prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual closings with a focus on their insurance-related positions
You provide accounting guidance under IFRS (especially IFRS17), HGB and Solvency 2 from a reinsurance accounting perspective
It is your task to support the refinement of the technical accounting processes for IFRS 17
You perform analysis and controls, particularly on the IFRS17 financials and support the yearly planning exercise
Key Qualifications:
You have successfully passed your studies in (preferably) Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or Mathematics or have a similar qualification
You have several years of experience in the (re-)insurance industry or alternatively, you have worked in an auditing company (Big4/next10) with focus on financial services in the insurance environment
You have sound knowledge in the preparation of financial closings and have a solid IFRS 17 and HGB accounting knowledge; knowledge of Solvency II is a big plus, but not a must
You are always willing to learn new things and constantly want to improve your skills; you also enjoy optimizing processes and you have an open mindset and a can-do as well as a hands-on attitude
You have excellent technical skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – VBA/Macro knowledge is a big plus
Preferably you have sound knowledge and experience with SAP; also first contact points with SAP within the scope of studies or internships is an advantage
You are fluent in English (especially in written English)
German language skills are an additional plus, but not mandatory
