For our client, a global player in the insurance industry, headquartered in Munich, we are searching for an experienced (Senior) Data Science Analyst (gn) with a strong analytical mindset, a proactive and forward-thinking attitude, and a structured, solution-oriented approach to supporting actuarial processes.
(Senior) Data Science Analyst (gn)

Your tasks:
You analyze complex datasets from P&C and Life insurance to uncover insights that drive reserving, pricing, and risk strategies
You develop and apply advanced analytics and machine learning models to enhance actuarial processes from claims forecasting to lapse modeling and customer segmentation
You support the automation and further development of reserving and reporting tools, helping to streamline workflows and improve efficiency across teams
You act as a bridge between data science and actuarial work collaborating with actuaries, data engineers, and business stakeholders to integrate innovative methods and ensure regulatory alignment
You contribute to classic actuarial tasks such as reserve calculations and data validation (depending on your background) and help foster a data-driven culture by promoting best practices in analytics and automation
Your profile:
You have successfully completed your studies in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science or a related quantitative field. Ideally, you have already started or are planning to pursue an actuarial qualification (e.g. DAV or an international equivalent)
You bring relevant experience from the insurance industry – preferably within P&C (e.g. reserving, claims, underwriting), though a background in Life insurance is equally appreciated
Your solid grasp of actuarial principles is complemented by a strong analytical mindset and a genuine interest in applying advanced data analytics to solve real-world insurance challenges
You are proficient in Python and/or R and ideally have some experience with tools like SQL or Power BI
You enjoy working in collaborative, cross-functional teams and are known for your structured approach, attention to detail and ability to remain focused under pressure
You communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken. Additional language skills, especially in German, are a welcome bonus
